Tools to Win
Energy Catalyst Toolkit
Jumpstart your energy savings with this digital toolkit that contains everything you need to take actions listed on the Energy Scorecard: how-to guides, ready-to-customize employee surveys and policies, planning/tracking tools, and topic-specific provider lists, among other resources, specifically crafted with the busy business-owner in mind. Access provided after registration is complete.
Schedule an Onsite Visit
One of our trained Challenge team members will do an initial walkthrough of your business to assess whether you could benefit from a LEAP commercial energy audit or assistance from a UVA/Challenge Team. Access provided after registration is complete
Challenge Game Plan
Using the Challenge Game Plan, businesses will have the opportunity to map out what they want to accomplish during the Challenge, how they intend to reach these goals, and possible hurdles they might face along the way. The template helps participants get organized and ready to complete actions that earn them points and savings!
Lunch n' Learns and Networking
Keep in touch with the latest trends and technology with our series of three Lunch n’ Learns: Watts New in Energy Savings (Energy Efficiency); The Dollars and Sense of Going Solar (Solar/Renewable Energy); Light up the Savings (Lighting). It’s also a great opportunity to network with other businesses in the Challenge -- cross pollinating like this can be fruitful toward finding solutions. We'll also hold Challenge Happy Hours throughout the contest.
Challenge participants will have access to a B2B forum to share obstacles, solutions, and success stories with other members of the Challenge. Communicating with other businesses will provide networking opportunities as well as a chance to learn from others.
Apply for a Challenge Coach
Challenge Coaches are trained volunteers who will work with motivated organizations to facilitate taking action from the Energy Scorecard to make an impact. Whether looking into pricing, doing some initial research and calculations, or setting up an energy audit, a Challenge Coach can provide the staff support you need. Due to limited capacity, interested businesses will need to apply to receive Coach support. Application provided upon completion of your registration.
Thanks to a partnership with the Charlottesville Economic Development's Ace Program, the Challenge will waive the registration fee and offer three $500 mini-grants to support small, women, and/or minority-owned (SWaM) City businesses with owners who are low to moderate income as defined by the Housing and Urban Development Dept (HUD). To find out more details and whether you qualify, go to our Mini-Grant page.
Text Message Reminders
Businesses can opt-in to text message updates for reminders about important events and information about the Challenge by providing a cell phone number during registration. This is a great way to stay connected with Challenge events and important dates.
