A Community-Wide Effort
The Charlottesville Area Better Business Challenge was started by a partnership with Better World Betty and LEAP (the Local Energy Alliance Program) in 2010. In total, over 200 businesses, schools, and churches have participated in the Better Business Challenge in the last three rounds. The 2018-2019 program had 93 participants who will save over half a million dollars per year collectively moving forward. The Charlottesville Climate Collaborative licensed the program from Better World Betty in the fall of 2017 to bring the Challenge back to Charlottesville in 2018!
The Charlottesville Climate Collaborative
The Charlottesville Climate Collaborative was founded in 2017 with the aim of catalyzing local climate action through cross-sector partnerships and programs. As a part of that mission, C3 will execute the Challenge in collaboration with its community partners, a group of dedicated people and organizations contributing copious volunteer hours, professional assistance, financial, and community support.
